Father Eric

Rector

Father Eric was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, and after living and moving around Illinois he made his way to Austin, TX to study and discern a call to the priesthood. He graduated with his B.A. in Political Science from Huston-Tillotson and received his MDiv. from Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, where he fell deeply in love with the history, tradition, and liturgy of the Church. He was ordained in 2014.

For 2 years he served Iglesia Episcopal Santa Maria Virgen in Houston, one of the largest all Spanish speaking Episcopal churches in the country, where he learned to serve in Spanish and developed a still strong addiction to pupusas. After that he returned to Austin to serve for several years as the Campus Missioner to the Episcopal Student Center at the University of Texas. In that time he and his wife, who is also an Episcopal priest, were married and, with a child on the way, he began to discern a call to serve as Rector of Saint Margaret’s Episcopal Church in San Antonio.

Fr. Eric began his ministry here as Rector in 2019 and loves most of all the friendly and energetic people of St. Margaret’s. Living now in what is clearly the best city in Texas, he strives always to joyfully preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and he looks forward to discovering and giving thanks for all the beautiful blessings God has in store for our parish.
